Amanda Birkhead, MS, RD, LDN, CEDRD

Originally from Colorado, Amanda earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and her Master’s in Nutrition from Colorado State University. Shaped by her degrees in nutrition and psychology, Amanda’s counseling style integrates both the physiological and psychological dynamics that come into play in our food relationships. Amanda prides herself on meeting people where they are and helping them make small, but meaningful, dietary shifts that move them towards their personal values and goals.  She believes that a healthy diet is one that nourishes not only the body, but also the mind and the taste buds.

As a Certified Eating Disorder Dietitian (CEDRD), Amanda specializes in helping those struggling with disordered eating work towards physical health and peace with food. She has been working with eating disorder clients since 2013, supporting adults, adolescents, and families in both residential and outpatient treatment settings. Amanda joined the Healthy Diets team in 2018.

Outside the office, Amanda finds joy in playing volleyball, spending time with her husband and young daughter, singing loudly in the car, and laughing.
